DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACOLOGY

  • The Pharmacology department is keeping abreast of development in the field of Pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics
  • The department has salient features which includes well equipped laboratories that enables us to evaluate and validate the Pharmacological effects of naturally occurring and pure synthetic compounds.
  • The department is having unique features to do biological screening
  • The department has received grants from the AICTE under TAPTEC Programme and from DRDO for the task entitled “Pharmacological evaluation of Kombucha Tea”.
  • The department has received Staff Development Programme grant from AICTE, New Delhi.
  • Recently department of pharmacology received a grant from AICTE-ISTE, New Delhi to conduct Short Term Training Programme (STTP) from 16th – 20th June 2008 enlightening Current Trends in Preclinical Research – An update.
  • The department maintains registered Animal House (Reg. No. 265/CPCSEA) approved by CPCSEA, New Delhi for the utilization of animals in research
  • Students are having hands – on training in all equipments meant for the screening of CNS activities.
  • The faculties attend Seminars, Symposia and Conferences periodically to update the current trends in the field of Pharmacoloy. Faculties are also invited as resource persons from various institutions to share their knowledge. The department has published 75 research papers in referred journal.
  • The department has Museum enriched with specimen, models and illustrative charts.
  • The department has interaction with institutions in an around Tamilnadu through consultancy activities
